Configuring Pegasus Mail

- The Pegasus Mail Reader software gives you another option for sending
and retrieving email. This can be especially useful for use with additional
email accounts for example.
- To install the software, first click on the "Advanced Internet" button
from the main system menu.

- Then click on the "Pegasus E-mail" Reader button.
|
|
| |
| -Clicking on the Pegasus button the first
time will bring up a window telling you that the program needs to first
be dowloaded to your system. Click on "Download." A progress screen will
appear while it transfers the file. |

-Once the file is finished downloading, a
black screen of text will appear. This is the file "unzipping" to your
hard drive. Wait until the top of the window says "Finished," then close
this window.

-The Pegasus Mail Setup program will appear. Simply click the "Continue
Installation" button to continue.

 |
- The next screen to pop up will be the NetWare or Standalone window.
Click on the "No Netware Support" button since you will not be using the
software over a Novell Network.

- The next sreen will ask you where you want to install
the software on your computer. Click on "OK, accept this directory."
- Another screen will appear labeled "Ready for Installation." Now click
on "Install Pegasus Mail." |

- When the "Setup Completed" screen appears, click on "Exit" to
start Pegasus Mail Reader. |

-Now it's time to setup the software so you can access your mail account.
When the "Setting up mailboxes" window pops up, chose the first button
for one person use.
- The next screen will ask where you want to keep your mail-related
files on your computer. It will suggest c:\pmail\mail. Press "OK."
-Then another screen labeled "Notice to Win95 users" will appear, click
"OK" again. |

- The next window will ask you if you want to use Pegasus with your
winsock.dll file. Click on "OK." |
- The Mail Configuration window will appear next. This is the most important
part of the setup. Enter the following information:
POP3 Host: pop3.thevine.net
Username: your user-id
Password: your password
SMTP Host: smtp.thevine.net
-Then click the "Advanced configuration options" button. |

| - In the "From field" space, type in your full e-mail address:
user-id@thevine.net
|

- Click "OK" on the next two screens that appear, and Pegasus should
be ready to use. Just click on the buttons at the top of the screen to
send and receive mail:
- You can find out what each button does by holding the mouse over each
one; this will bring up a short description of its function.
