Setting SMTP authentication on Outlook Express

Step 1 : In Outlook Express go to tools then to Accounts.

Step 2 : Click on the Mail tab if not already selected. Click on the email account from the list. Next click on Properties on the left

Step 3 : In the Properties window click on the Servers tab.

Step 4 : Change your Account name: to be your email address. Next Click the check box next to My server requires authentication at the bottom of the the properties window. After that is done click on Settings... to the right.

Step 5 : Make sure  Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected. Now click OK on all windows or close the windows.
